We celebrated two days of interesting topics in the wonderful city of Athens during the Joint Maritime and Tourism & Sports Conference on 7 and 8 November.

In memory of Wolfgang Resch

It is with the heaviest heart that we must inform you that our dear Wolfgang Resch has passed away on November 4th, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Although we are heartbroken, Wolfgang will remain in our thoughts and we feel privileged to have been part of his life.
Annual Conference Prague 2024

The Joint Conference of the PEOPIL Product Liability, Pharmaceutical and Mass Tort SIG, and the Road Traffic & Whiplash SIG was held on 6th and 7th June 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal, at the luxurious Hotel Dom Pedro. Supported by Deka Chambers and 12 KBW, this event attracted legal professionals from all over Europe, eager to dive into the latest developments in these fields.

Joint PEOPIL/ANAVA Conference in Madrid 9 & 10 May 2024

On 9 and 10 May, Madrid became the epicentre of comparative law in the field of Personal Injury during the I International Conference on Civil Liability organised by PEOPIL in collaboration with the Madrid Bar Association and the national association of lawyers of victims, Anava-RC.

Joint Occupational Health & RTA Conference Thessaloniki 15-16 June 2023

In the beautiful and historical town of Thessaloniki, capital of Greek Macedonia, the perfectly organised PEOPIL Occupational Health & RTA Conference could be nothing more than another successful event.
Highly ranked and accredited in their field professors, attorneys and technical experts, mainly from Europe but also from other parts of the world, formed a very strong team of panelists and speakers, while all participants were warmly welcomed by the Athens and Thessaloniki Bar Association representatives, as per the well known Greek hospitality.
Greek Courts condemned the State for the death of asylum seekers due to inhuman and degrading treatment (ECHR)

In January 2017, in the midst of the largest immigration wave from Turkey towards Europe, via the eastern Greek islands, two asylum seekers, one from Syria and another from Egypt, died in their sleep due to toxic carbon monoxide inhalation in the Refugees’ Reception and Identification Center of Moria, on the island of Lesvos in Greece.
13th McGill/Peopil Conference on Aviation: Liability, Insurance & Finance

After a pause of over two years due to covid the long-awaited conference was indeed a great success.
When we started the McGill /PEOPIL aviation seminar collaboration back in 2008 in Toulouse, France we were 17 participants, including speakers. That seminar included a much appreciated visit to Airbus and their 380 assembly plant.
